What we are doing
We will set up a secure work compound within the former Network Rail site between Duddeston Mill Road and the River Rea.
We will soon start erecting scaffolding around the building before starting demolition of the Network Rail building within our work site to prepare for construction of HS2. To ensure that these works are carried out as swiftly as possible it may require weekend working on occasions. Our teams may be on site up to one hour before and one hour after the works to set up and secure the site at the end of each day.
We’ve got a safe plan in place to manage demolition and materials. When we take down a building, we remove materials and strip the building back to its base structure. Once the frame is exposed, we make
final checks to confirm our demolition plan is correct, then complete the clearance. Demolition waste is sorted and recycled to meet our target of recycling more than 90 per cent of the materials.
