What we are doing

Utility diversions – Euston Street and North Gower Street
We previously notified you (ref: HS2 EUS SCP 25 1209) of utility diversion works. From mid-May 2026, UKPN will begin duct and cable diversions to support future stages. Pedestrian access to properties and Euston Station will be maintained throughout.

Key dates and activities

• July until late August 2026 – Excavation of the road surface and diversion of the water main, including temporary work sites. Acoustic blankets will be installed to help reduce noise impacts. Lane reductions on Euston Street; North Gower Street closed at Euston Road with no vehicle access from Drummond Street. Property and business access maintained, with some parking bay suspensions.
• Late August 2026 until May 2027 – Excavation and construction of sewer shafts, including temporary work sites. Acoustic blankets will be installed to help reduce noise impacts. Lane reductions on North Gower Street. Euston Street will be closed to vehicles throughout the duration of these works.

HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
