What we are doing
We are constructing a temporary bridge over the A361 Byfield Road, in an area north of Chipping Warden, close to our Chipping Warden Green Tunnel Compound. This bridge will enable our earthmoving equipment and other construction traffic to safely pass over the A361, reducing disruption on the highway.
At the end of July, we will require overnight closures on a section of the A361 where the temporary bridge abutments will be built. During these closures we will be carrying out reinforcement work and installing safety barriers. This overnight closure is required because our staff will be working directly on the carriageway.
The A361 will be closed overnight, 8.00pm to 6.00am on Thursday 28 July and Friday 29 July 2022 with a signed diversion in place. The road will reopen at 6.00am on Saturday 30 July 2022.
