Installation of vehicle restraint barriers at A412 North Orbital Road, near Denham, Buckinghamshire

What we are doing

We will be installing a Vehicle Restraint System (VRS) around the piers of the Colne Valley viaduct on either side of the A412. These safety barriers are designed to protect road users and the viaduct piers in the event of accidental collision.

Duration
Works are scheduled to begin on Monday 6 July 2026 and will continue until 24 July 2026

What to expect
To carry out the works safely, there will be lane closures along the carriageway, supported by 24-hour traffic management. These measures are necessary to provide a safe working area for our workforce and to manage traffic through the site, particularly during busier periods. We will make every effort to keep disruption to a minimum during this period.

HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
