Lamppost reinstatements on College Crescent, South Hampstead

We wrote to you recently about work in late June and early July 2026 to reinstate two lampposts on College Crescent which were removed as part of our work to divert the gas main. Due to technical difficulties, we were only able to reinstate one of the lampposts.

On Saturday 25 July 2026 from 8am to 4pm, we will reinstate the pavement around the area of the removed lamppost. We will have a single lane closure and a footpath closure in place while we complete this work.

Lighting in the area is being reviewed, and we will let you know if the second lamppost is to be reinstated.

HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
