What we are doing
Lane closure on Lidlington Place and Hampstead Road bridge
Previously we installed a new cable route and diverted utility services from Lidlington Place to Varndell Street via Granby Terrace next to Hampstead Road to clear our working area before we begin works to extend Hampstead Road bridge. We have recently been made aware by UK Power networks (UKPN) of another cable that needs to be diverted before works can begin to extend Hampstead Road bridge.
We will close a section of the road and northern footpath on Lidlington Place between Eversholt Street and Harrington Square. We’ll suspend one parking bay and the loading bay on the southern section on Lidlington Place. We will be working on Lidlington Place from Monday 28 September to Friday 23 October 2026, we will work Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm. We will also be working on Saturday 3 and 17 October from 8am to 6pm and on Sunday 4 and 18 October 2026 from 10am to 6pm. To reduce impacts to residents, there will be no noisy works after 1pm on weekends.
We will also work within our existing traffic management on Hampsted Road bridge, with one northbound lane closure from Monday 28 September to Friday 9 October 2026. There will be no weekend working in this area on Hampstead Road bridge.
We will provide a signposted pedestrian diversion. Property access will be maintained at all times. We apologise for any inconvenience these works might cause.
