What we are doing
Traffic management will be in place to facilitate key HS2 construction activities, including the installation of bridge deck sections for the Water Orton viaducts in North Warwickshire and the final West Deck slide of the M6 South Viaduct in Solihull.
Location
M42 between junctions 6 to 9 northbound and 9 to 7 southbound (including M6 J4a southbound link to M42 in both directions).
M6 northbound J3a link to M6toll T1 and M6 Toll southbound from T3.
Duration
From 9pm on Friday 23 October until 5am Monday 26 October 2026.
What to expect
- A fully signed diversion route will be in place throughout the full weekend closures.
- Low level noise from our works site.
These works are subject to consent.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
