What we are doing
Location
M6 full weekend closure between J4 and J4A northbound and southbound (including the M42 J7A link to M6 southbound).
Duration
From 9pm on Friday 21 August 2026 until 6am on Monday 24 August 2026.
What we are doing
As we progress with construction of the M6 South Viaduct in Solihull, traffic management will be in place to allow our workforce to safely continue sliding the west deck across the motorway.
What to expect
A fully signed diversion route will be in place throughout the full weekend closures. Please allow more time for your journeys.

These works are subject to consent.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
