What we are doing
24/7 works are ongoing until 30 November 2026 within the Northolt Tunnel. We are working within the tunnel to build the emergency and maintenance walkways and continuing the fit out of our cross passages, which connect the parallel running tunnels.
Along the northern side of the Chiltern line, we are installing concrete noise barrier panels and drainage systems. The noise barrier installation will continue into 2027. We have also begun piling works, ahead of diverting the Ickenham Stream, ongoing until December 2026.
Works to construct the headhouse and porous portal are ongoing until January 2028.
In the golf course area, we will maintain the newly constructed wildlife habitat; carry out ongoing maintenance works, which will include vegetation clearance and tree pruning; maintain access to the golf course for the public via the approved footpaths; and maintain the diverted section of the U44 footpath.
