A full road closure will be in place from 8pm on Friday 18 September to 6am on Thursday 1 October 2026.
What we are doing
These works form part of the Water Orton viaduct construction and are to undertake preparatory works adjacent to Gilson Road, ahead of the upcoming motorway closure and parapet installation.
What to expect
• Access to residents will be maintained throughout the closure
• A clearly signed diversion route
• Low level of noise from our machinery
• Pedestrian and cycle access maintained throughout
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
