What we are doing
We will be removing a redundant underground cable around the A418 bridge. We’ll be working near live utilities using vacuum excavators at certain times, creating some noise and dust with quieter and busier periods.
Location
A418 Oxford Road, between Coldharbour roundabout and Stone.
Duration
8:30pm, Friday 15 May to 5:30am, Saturday 16 May.
What to expect
Single lane closure managed by temporary traffic lights from 8:30pm to 5:30am.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
