What we are doing
Works involve installing tactile paving and extending the footpath on Brackley Lane.
New permanent lighting columns will be installed and finishing works completed before Calvert bridge and highway opens on 16 August 2026.

Lane closure from 23 July until 6 August 2026, 24 hours a day
What to expect
- Lane closure managed by two-way traffic lights.
- Expect periods of increased noise during the works.
- A vac excavator is required to complete the pavement works.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
