Duration
7am Saturday 8 August to 6am on Sunday 9 August extended lane closures on the southbound carriageway only.8pm Saturday 8 August until 6am on Sunday 9 August the south bound slip road onto the A46 at the Stoneleigh junction will be closed. 8pm Sunday 9 August until 6am Monday 10 August 2026, a lane closure will be in place on the northbound carriageway only.
What we are doing
We will complete the topsoil replacement on the embankment and surfacing on the A46.
All our work is subject to final consent from National Highways.
What to expect
An extension of the existing lane closures on the southbound carriageway, an overnight diversion for traffic joining the A46, a lane closure northbound and some minor delays to your journey.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
