Notice of overnight closures in both directions of the A5 Hints Bypass from Weeford Junction to Mile Oak, Lichfield

What we are doing

As work progresses on the A5 Hints Bypass Overbridge, it is necessary to temporarily close the road to allow modifications to the traffic management arrangements. These changes are required to create sufficient space within the central reservation to facilitate upcoming drainage installation and barrier construction works.

Location
A5 Hints Bypass between Weeford Junction and Mile Oak, Lichfield.

Duration
The A5 Hints Bypass will be closed overnight in both directions on Friday 6 November and Saturday 7 November 2026, from 9pm to 6am each night.

What to expect
Low level of noise from our works and a fully signed diversion route during each closure.
Works are subject to consent.

HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
