A5 Hints Bypass, Lichfield

Duration
The A5 Hints Bypass will be closed overnight for nine separate nights in both directions throughout a two-week period.

Week 1
Monday 10 August to Thursday 13 August 2026 between the hours of 9pm and 6am (inclusive).

Week 2
Monday 17 August to Friday 21 August 2026 between the hours of 9pm and 6am (inclusive).

What we are doing
As work progresses on the A5 Hints Bypass overbridge it is necessary to close the road to undertake works to the structure including the constructing the road leading up to the structure and works relating to the bridge.

What to expect
Low level of noise from our works. A fully signed diversion route during each closure.

Works are subject to consent.

HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
