What we are doing
Location
M42 between junctions 6 to 9 northbound (including M6 J4a southbound link to M42 in both directions and the M6, J3a northbound link to the M42).

Duration
The road will be closed overnight from 9pm Monday 2 November to 6am Tuesday 3 November 2026.
What we are doing
We will be casting concrete on the Water Orton Viaduct structures, where they cross the motorway.
What to expect
Low level of noise from our machinery and a clearly signed diversion route.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
