Update: The road will reopen on Friday 4 September.
Followed by ongoing works:
- Overnight closure: Saturday 5 September to Sunday 6 September, 8pm to 6am.
- Lane closure with traffic lights: Monday 7 September to Friday 9 October, 24 hours a day.

What we are doing
Construction activities to join the new road bridge over the HS2 railway line into the existing road.
What to expect
Following the road opening, work to complete the bridge will be carried out under overnight road closures and lane closures.
The road closure commencing on Friday 21 August will be continuous, with no access for all road users.
Access will be maintained for properties within the closure area and for staff to access the EKFB compound only.
Some 24-hour working and weekend working will be required.
Following the closure, the existing traffic-light controlled access to the EKFB compound will remain in place.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area
