Buckingham Road, A4421 old road between Newton Purcell and Barton Hartshorn.
Duration
Weekend Road Closures –
Friday 8:00pm to Monday 5:30am – 27 March to 30 March 2026
Overnight and daytime closure –
Thursday 02 April, 8:00pm to Friday 03 April, 6:00pm
What we are doing
We will be completing the removal of the temporary bridge that crosses the old A4421 road, as well as dismantling the old railway abutment. This process will involve the use of heavy machinery, which may generate significant noise during daytime working hours
What to expect
A small section of the old Buckingham Road (Former A4421) will be closed. This closure will not affect traffic on the main A4421.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
