What we are doing
Featherbed Lane Overbridge Realignment: The original 47-day road closure was planned to complete all works, including gas connections. However, due to delays in the delivery of bespoke parts, the gas connection works will now require an additional two-week closure.
While we have adjusted the start date to ensure the new highway opens on 15 June as scheduled, the road may need to remain closed for two weeks afterward to complete these connections. We will keep the community updated as plans are confirmed.

What to expect
A full road closure will be in place 24/7, with a diversion route available. Please allow extra time for your journey. Please also note that these works are subject to the necessary consents.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
