We previously advised that Cromwell Lane would open on Sunday 30 August, we now need to extend the work until 6pm Sunday 11 October 2026.
The road closure will be in place 24 hours a day.
What we are doing
We will continue the programme of multiple utility work reconnections, highway drainage, highway surfacing, white lines, curbs and lighting ready to open Cromwell Lane on its original alignment.
What to expect
Increased levels of construction activity and some disruption to your travel times. We will maintain pedestrian access to all properties. The existing road diversion and public transport arrangements remain unchanged.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
