What we are doing

As part of our ongoing maintenance of sites along School Lane, we will need to complete works within and adjacent to the highway. The works include

-Undertaking ground penetrating surveys (GPRs)
-Completing 10 road cores
-A tree survey and
-A drainage survey

To complete this work we need to install a temporary full road closure on School Lane including the junction leading to Ridware Road
If your journey is affected by these works, we appreciate your patience and understanding and we urge you to allow additional time for your journey as necessary.

The work will be carried out in compliance with the Code of Construction Practice, and we will inform you in advance of any changes to the dates and working times.

How will this affect you

The equipment we use may generate some low-level noise. We will be switching off engines when not in use and working during the day to minimise disturbance.

We will be installing a full road closure on School Lane including the junction leading to Ridware Road. A diversion route will be fully signposted

The work will take place in two phases

Phase 1
Date: Tuesday 1 September 2026
Time: 9.30am to 3.30pm

Phase 2
Date: Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 September 2026
Time: 9.30am to 3.30pm

HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
