What we are doing
As we progress with the construction of the railway, we will be closing the M42 junctions 5a to 7 northbound and 6 to 7 southbound to
allow our workforce to safely install beams for the M42 Motorway Box structure as part of our planned programme of works.
What to expect
A fully signed diversion route will be in place during the closure. Low level noise from our works site. Please allow extra time for your journey.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
