These works will be between Saturday 29 August 2026 to Monday 31 August 2026 and will require a 24-hour working pattern.
What we are doing
As works are progressing in the area, we will now be installing a section of the new Saltley bridge over the existing Network Rail lines. This is a key part of the route that will carry High Speed trains from the East of Birmingham and into Curzon Street Station, right in the centre of Birmingham.
What to expect
This work will have no highway impacts as it is over the existing Network Rail lines. It will require a 24-hour working pattern so there be some low-level construction noise and lighting overnight.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
