What we are doing
We need to identify existing utilities in the ground so that we can excavate and build new bridge foundations. We will remove the supporting walls (called ‘abutments’) of the former Wycombe line bridge between our site and the remaining bridge on Old Oak Common Lane. The walls of the old bridges on the east side of Old Oak Common Lane were demolished in April 2026.
There will be a single northbound lane closure on Old Oak Common Lane. Two-way traffic will be controlled by temporary traffic lights with full access to Wells House Road from both directions.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
