Update: Old Oak Common Lane, single lane closure for Wells House Road stairs work

What we are doing

A single lane closure northbound on Old Oak Common Lane. The work supports activities taking place on the stairs. The activities include demolishing supporting walls and the stairs themselves, excavating materials, and concrete pouring within the stairwell, and neighbouring properties.

Working hours: 8am-5pm (although the lane closure will last until up to 6pm)

From Friday 24 July, intermittently as required see dates below:

• Monday 10 August 8am – 6pm Lane closure  – Concrete delivery & pouring
• Thursday 17 until Thursday 1 October – 24/7  Lane closure – Old Oak Common Lane bridge excavating works
• Thursday 24 September and Friday 25 September 8am – 6pm Lane closure – Install steel support frame and wall fittings
• Tuesday 29 September until Wednesday 30 September 8am – 6pm Lane closure – Install steel support frame and wall fittings
• Friday 2 October and Monday 5 October 8am – 6pm Lane closure – Install steel support frame
• Wednesday 14 October and Thursday 15 October 8am – 6pm Lane closure – Install steel support frame
• Wednesday 11 November until Wednesday 18 November 8am – 6pm Lane closure – Connect drainage into existing network and reinstate pavement

Please note, these are subject to change and we may not close the lane on all dates.

HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
