What we are doing
We wrote to you in April to update you on our monitoring works at Wells House Road during the construction of the Old Oak Common tunnel. As we continue to build the tunnel, we will need to carry out additional monitoring.
- On 29 and 30 July we will setup a temporary connection cable alongside the front perimeter wall of 137 to 167 Wells House Road properties for monitoring or tunnel, this will be removed at the end of each after monitoring.
- From 29 July to 7 August we will also install a temporary monitoring point inside 167 Wells House Road and Kildun Court and carry out non-intrusive monitoring.
- From 1 August to 31 August, we will carry out daily visual inspections of properties we are monitoring alongside Wells House Road.
Our current programme for monitoring ground movement during our tunnelling works will continue and after tunnelling has completed. With tunnel construction progressing towards the Old Oak Common station site, we are carrying out planned daily monitoring including weekends until 31 May 2027. These works will take place during core hours Mondays to Fridays 8am to 6pm, Saturdays 8am to 1pm.
You may notice operatives in the area carrying out monitoring in front of, and at the rear of, 157 to 167 Wells House Road and nearby properties.
We have agreed access to the rear of the properties above and will aim to minimise any disruption to residents. We will need to take readings from the prisms and studs located on these buildings and on the pavement.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
