What we are doing
We are continuing to build the ventilation shaft and headhouse at Green Park Way. The ventilation shaft will allow air to flow in and out of the railway tunnel below. The headhouse is the building on top of the ventilation shaft which contains fire control and ventilation systems.
We will start building the above ground structures and the internal structures below ground within the shaft. This work will continue into spring 2027
You may notice some construction noise. We will use mitigation measures to reduce impacts where possible.
Our core working hours: 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
