What we are doing
Location
Leather Lane, between A413 London Road and Potter Row, Buckinghamshire
Duration
Monday 2 November 2026
What we are doing
Leather Lane, near Great Missenden, will reopen to road users on Monday 2 November 2026 following the completion of the realignment of the road to incorporate a new green bridge over the railway.
What to expect
Although Leather Lane will reopen to traffic on 2 November 2026, temporary traffic management will remain in place on Leather Lane until at least summer 2027. This is required to facilitate the safe operation of a construction haul road crossing, which will continue to be used by HS2 construction vehicles during the ongoing construction of the South Heath cutting.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
