What we are doing
We are continuing with our work to support the construction of railway bridges near the Central Line (around 90 metres south from the rear of properties on Wells House Road).
We need to separate the area from the Central Line and our site by installing improved fencing. The work needs to be completed overnight when the Central Line is not operating. The work will involve some drilling and excavating. We then need to demolish a wing wall – a secondary retaining wall, built at an angle to hold back soil and protect it from erosion. The work to the wall involves saw cutting, which can be noisy.
Working times
• Sunday 7 June – Friday 12 June (fencing replacement – taking down plywood fencing)
• Sunday 14 June – Friday 19 June (dismantling the wingwall – a smaller retaining wall)
• Sunday 21 June – Friday 26 June (dismantling wingwall – a smaller retaining wall)
All working hours within 10pm – 6am
We will be excavating the wall from the end of June through July ahead of foundation work for the bridge, but we do not anticipate significant overnight disruption.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
