What we are doing
As part of the ongoing construction of the M6 South Viaduct in Solihull, traffic management will be in place to allow our workforce to safely continue moving the west deck of the viaduct over the motorway.
Location
M6 between J4 and J4A northbound and southbound.
(including the M42 J7A link to M6 southbound).
Duration
One overnight closure, from 10pm on Thursday 22 October 2026 to 5am on Friday 23 October 2026.
What to expect
- A fully signed diversion route will be in place throughout the closure period.
- Low level noise from our worksite.
These works are subject to consent.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
