What we are doing
We need to prepare a new part of the water main in a process known as ‘chlorinating’ for several nights. The water main is being commissioned as part of the utility diversions which are taking place on Old Oak Common Lane. The work needs to be carried out overnight when water pressure is the lowest.

What to expect
Your water supply will not be impacted. The work will not be noisy, but there will be some noise from staff and machines. We’ll be operating machines such as generators to power the pumps which abstract water from the main. We’ll also use tools such as wrenches. Our workers will keep noise to minimum and use acoustic barriers for the equipment.

HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
