Overnight road closure, vegetation removal and site works, Whielden Street, Amersham

What we are doing

We need to close Whielden Street overnight whilst we carry out vegetation removal at the Amersham ventilation shaft site compound.

This is to enable the installation of fire water tanks, foul water drainage systems, and utility connections in the land where the temporary car park is situated.

Amersham ventilation shaft, Buckinghamshire

Duration
Night closure of Whielden Street from 8pm to 5am every night from Wednesday 4 November to Thursday 12 November 2026, to be followed by daytime working within the compound until April 2027.

What to expect

• Temporary closure and traffic management from 4 November to allow vegetation removal.
• Noise during night works from power tools and operatives.
• Subsequent works will require occasional HGV deliveries, excavators and some construction noise during daytime hours.

HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
