What we are doing
We will strengthen and protect the Gas main beneath Parkway junction before the arrival of the tunnel boring machine (TBM). To help protect the gas network, we will replace sections of the existing gas main with a new main before tunnelling arrives at Euston. Please note you gas supply will not be affected.
From 2 November 2026 to early March 2027, we will close several lanes on Delancey Street and Parkway. Vehicles will not be able to turn left from Delancey Street onto Parkway. The diversion will follow from Delancey Street across Gloucester Avenue, along Regent’s Park Road, left on St Mark’s Square, left on Prince Albert Road, then back via Parkway. We will install temporary lights and temporary pedestrian crossings around the junction.
Prior to starting the gas mitigation work, we will make changes to the junctions around Parkway to reduce the impact on traffic during the gas mitigation works. The work will begin in September. The island removal works will start on 28 September, and will be completed by 30 October, with the gas mitigation works starting on 2 November until March 2027.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
