What we are doing
From June 2026, we started preparatory works in Zone 5 to enable the extension of Hampstead Road bridge. We’ll now begin installing sheet piles throughout Zone 5 to support the temporary road, which will be in place for approximately two years. From Monday 17 August, we’ll start preparing the area for sheet piling and vibration piling. We’ll work from south to north to install piles within our site in the location. We’ll work from Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, for about two months to complete these works. We may need to work some weekends to ensure works are completed on time, however we’ll provide an update on this if required.
There will be periods of increased noise and vibration during these works, however we’ll regularly monitor levels to ensure we are working within our approved limits.

HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
