What we are doing
We told you in July there would be a partial road closure on Adelaide Road from 19 to 20 September.
The partial road closure is now planned from 14 to 15 November 2026. Adelaide Road will be closed between the junction with Eton Road and the entrance to Beaumont Walk. This is for safety reasons while a crane is being delivered, and the new welfare unit is lifted into place. Crane use is subject to weather conditions. If we cannot complete this work on the planned dates, it will be rescheduled to 21 to 22 November 2026.
There will be a westbound lane closure on Adelaide Road from 16 to 27 November.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
