What we are doing
Location
M42 northbound and southbound between junctions 9 to 10.
Duration
Northbound overnight full carriageway closure:
From 9pm Wednesday 1 July until 5am Thursday 2 July 2026.
Southbound overnight full carriageway closure:
From 9pm Thursday 2 July until 5am Friday 3 July 2026.
Northbound overnight full carriageway closures:
Each night from Monday 27 July 2026 until Sunday 2 August 2026 between 9pm and 5am.
Southbound overnight full carriageway closures:
Each night from Sunday 2 August 2026 to Saturday 8 August 2026 between 9pm and 5am.
What we are doing
As part of our planned programmed works for the M42 Marston Box structure built in North Warwickshire, overnight full carriageway closures will be required to enable our workforce to safely complete inspections and finishing works.
What to expect
A fully signed diversion route in place during these works.
Low level noise from our works site.
These works are subject to consent.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
