Duration
M42 J7 link overnight closures:
From 9pm until 6am between Monday 5 October 2026 and Thursday 8 October 2026.
*Please note that the last shift will take place on Wednesday 7 October 2026 meaning the road will open at 6am on Thursday 8 October 2026.
What we are doing
Traffic management will be in place to allow our workforce to safely continue structure works in the area.
What to expect
A fully signed diversion route will be in place during the closure period.
Low-level noise from our work site.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
