What we are doing
Location
Temporary overnight full closures of the M42 J9 and J10 northbound and southbound carriageways.
Duration
Weeknight road closures
Monday 28 September to Friday 9 October 2026 from 9pm and 6am weeknights only. During the daytime, the hard shoulder will remain closed in both directions.
What we are doing
We are completing essential works to the Marston Box structure. The closure is necessary to ensure the safety of our workforce and road users.
These works are subject to consent.
What to expect
Low level of noise from our worksite. Fully signed diversion route will be in place.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
