What we are doing
From 20 July to 19 August 2026, UKPN will be carrying out emergency excavations to clear blockages in underground ducts on Atlas Road. To enable these works to be completed safely, there will be a 24-hour directional lane closure in place throughout the works.
Vehicles requiring access to Atlas Road will need to follow the signed diversion route. UKPN’s working hours will be 8:00am to 8:00pm, and residents and businesses may notice additional noise while these works are taking place.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
