What we are doing

From Monday 15 June 2026 until 30th August 2026 , we are upgrading power cables to modernise the network ahead of the opening of the station and guarantee its long-term stability. As part of the renewal, we need to install new ducts underneath the railway bridge and along the south of Wells House Road to protect the cables. We are working with utility companies to update their cables and pipes, which will mean less disruption to residents and businesses in the future.

We need to clear some vegetation around the back of residents’ properties, south of Wells House Road. The work also includes ground reduction to make the area nearer properties level with the current work area. This is to provide a safe area for us to carry out the work.

HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
