What we are doing
We have been diverting utility services on and next to Hampstead Road before we begin works to extend Hampstead Road bridge. As part of these works, we previously installed new cable routes from Lidlington Place to Varndell Street via Granby Terrace to replace the existing route on Hampstead Road.
In the next stage of our works, we will install an additional section of ducting and connect the new cable routes before the existing services are transferred.
Update on Stanhope Street closure – 10 to 28 August
On 10 August we closed Stanhope Street north of the junction of Varndell Street, with traffic diverted via Varndell Street, Harrington Street, Mackworth Street and back onto Stanhope Street. We also closed a section of the eastern footpath on Stanhope Street. Pedestrians are diverted to the western footpath. We’ll continue to suspend parking bays on Stanhope Street during these works.
Please note that Varndell Street is closed at the junction of Hampstead Road.
We previously informed you that we expect these works to be complete by 21 August. Due to a delay in the programme, we now expect to finish on 28 August.
We will maintain access to properties at all times and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
