What we are doing
The diversion of the 132kV overhead lines has been delayed for c.9months. National Grid Electrical Distribution (NGED) is now mobilising to complete the work. NGED will remove two overhead line circuits and replace them with two underground cable circuits.
What to expect
Work will be within our existing construction area, and there should be no significant impact on the wider area. There will be a short night-time road closure of the A452 in Q1 2027 to remove some overhead cables.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
