What we are doing
We wrote to you recently about our works to install the gas main and rebuild the wall in front of the grass verge on Alexandra Road. We were due to complete these works by 16 August however, we have had delays due to additional design work needed. Therefore, the road and footpath will both remain closed until 23 August 2026. A traffic diversion will be in place.
We apologise for any inconvenience this work may cause.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
