What we are doing
From 26 October we’ll close Robert Street, the southbound lane of Hampstead Road below Cardington Street and the pedestrian crossing south of Robert Street (please see map below). Pedestrians will be diverted to the northbound footpath via a temporary crossing.
Please note that once we finish this phase, Robert Street will remain closed for the next phase of the works. We will keep you updated on exact dates. Access to Regent’s Park will be via Varndell Street. Access to Hampstead Road will be via William Road for southbound or Varndell Street for northbound.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
