What we are doing
Please see updated schedule of works at the Mandeville Road Vent Shaft site.
Working hours: 24 hours a day, Monday to Friday
- We are building reinforced concrete walls at the bottom of the main shaft, 23 metres below ground. Ongoing until 16 October 2026
Working hours: 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 1pm Saturdays. On some Saturdays we may work extended hours until 5pm
- We are continuing to build the headhouse. Works include ground excavations, breaking concrete and building reinforced concrete walls. Ongoing until December 2027.
- Badminton Close secondary access to Mandeville Road Vent Shaft site. On going until May 2027
- Installing manholes and sewage pipes at the site entrance on Mandeville Road. Ongoing until November 2026.
Various site activities including building concrete walls in the vent shaft, building the headhouse, breaking concrete, utility works and ground works. We will use noise reducing barriers, and damp down dust where possible.
We apologise for any disruption these works may cause.
We are not planning any works at the Mandeville Road site over August Bank Holiday:
August Bank Holiday – there will be no work from 7am on Saturday 29 August until 7am on Tuesday 1 September
Please be aware that we will be working overnight as usual on Friday 28 August underground until 7am on Saturday morning. This work is not expected to be noisy.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
