Update: Works at Mandeville Road site, Northolt

What we are doing

Please see updated schedule of works at the Mandeville Road Vent Shaft site.

Working hours: 24 hours a day, Monday to Friday

• We are building reinforced concrete walls at the bottom of the main shaft, 23 metres below ground. Ongoing until 16 October 2026

Working hours: 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 1pm Saturdays. On some Saturdays we may work extended hours until 6pm 

• We are continuing to build the headhouse. These works include ground excavations, breaking concrete and building reinforced concrete walls. Ongoing until Summer 2026
• Badminton Close secondary access to Mandeville Road Vent Shaft site. On going until May 2027
• Installing manholes and sewage pipes at the site entrance on Mandeville Road. 23 March to 31 July 2026

Working hours: 6am to 10pm, Monday to Friday – Six days in both March and April and four days in May 2026 

• Concrete pours for headhouse base slab
• There will be deliveries to site from 4am
• Concrete pours will start at 6am and will finish before 10pm

Various site activities including: building concrete walls in the vent shaft, building the headhouse and base slab, and pouring concrete. You may experience some noise from crane movement and site activities. There will be overnight works in the shaft, and site lighting will be visible at surface level. We will use noise reducing barriers, and damp down dust where possible.

HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
