A38 northbound slip road at Streethay
Duration
We are extending the closure of the A38 northbound slip road at Streethay. It will now be closed from Friday 27 March 2026 to the end of April 2027.
What we are doing
We are completing work to build the Rykneld Street overbridge that will allow the HS2 railway to pass under the existing A38 carriageway.
The northbound slip road closure is required to complete all remaining work including the final phase of the overbridge, utility works and the permanent realignment of the A38 northbound slip road.
What to expect
Some low-level noise may be generated in the area during working hours. A signed diversion route is in place.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
