What we are doing
We have previously notified you of our works to remove all the utilities from Hampstead Road and redirect them across Granby Terrace bridge and over the retaining wall within our worksite. These works are required before we extend Hampstead Road bridge. After we extend Hampstead Road bridge, we will permanently reinstall the utilities back on to Hampstead Road.
In January 2026, we started the next phase of the utility diversion works, involving various utility service providers working within our site, as well as on Hampstead Road, Lidlington Place and Stanhope Street to complete the final connections and energise their networks.
From Monday 27 July, UK Power Networks (UKPN) will be carrying out jointing works on Stanhope Street and Park Village East. The works are expected to take approximately four weeks and are necessary to safely complete the jointing of ducting. Whilst UKPN are working in this area, we’ll also excavate the area and install additional ducting. During this period, parking bay suspensions will be in place on both Stanhope Street and Park Village East, and temporary traffic lights will be used to manage vehicle flow through the works area. Working hours will be Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm. If the work takes longer than anticipated, daytime working may also be required on some weekends to complete the works safely.
There may be some noise during jointing works. These works will be monitored closely to ensure they remain within the noise limits agreed with the local council.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
