HS2 property schemes guidance
A guide for property schemes available to people affected by the High Speed Two (HS2) railway.
These guides summarise the property schemes available to people whose land or property may be affected by the construction or operation of the HS2 railway.
You should not apply for any of the schemes available until you have read the guidance and application forms for a particular scheme, which can be found on our dedicated property compensation pages.
Phase 2 of HS2 has been cancelled. Discretionary property schemes remain available as follows:
– The Need to Sell Scheme remains available between West Midlands and Crewe.
– The Need to Sell, Rural Support Zone, Streamlined Residential Blight and Express Purchase Schemes remain available between Crewe and Manchester and where safeguarding has been retained at the Handsacre Junction (part of former Phase 2a).
The full suite of discretionary schemes remain available between London and West Midlands.
Please contact the HS2 helpdesk for further guidance or if you are unsure which schemes apply in your area.
