HS2 in Warwickshire
Programme reset
We’re making sure HS2 provides the best value for Britain by carrying out a full review of the programme for the government.
Our CEO Mark Wild is resetting HS2’s cost and schedule. He successfully led Crossrail’s recovery in the wake of major challenges. This led to the successful opening of the Elizabeth line – now the busiest in the UK.
What we're building in Warwickshire
Oxford Canal viaduct
We’ll build a 60m viaduct to take the railway across the Oxford Canal, towpath and a country lane near Wormleighton.
Long Itchington Wood tunnel
We’re building a short 1 mile (1.6km) tunnel under Long Itchington Wood to preserve this ancient woodland.
Kenilworth overbridge
The overbridge in Warwickshire will allow HS2 trains to pass underneath the existing Coventry to Leamington Spa line.
Burton Green tunnel
We’re building the 400m Burton Green tunnel in the West Midlands.
Delta Junction
We’re building Delta Junction between Solihull, Water Orton and Coleshill in the West Midlands.
Bromford tunnel
Bromford tunnel is a 3.5 miles (5.6km) twin-bore tunnel just outside Birmingham.
Birmingham and Fazeley Canal viaduct
The Birmingham and Fazeley Canal Viaduct is located north of HS2’s Delta Junction, a triangle-shaped series of viaducts that allows HS2 trains to travel between London, the Midlands, and the North.
