What we are doing
From 16 to 27 February 2026, to support the construction of the new HS2 tunnels, we need to carry out groundwater monitoring along the line of route. A new groundwater monitoring borehole will be drilled in the New Pond Parade car park. The borehole will be located in between parking spaces. on the outer edge.
We will need to suspend all 12 parking spaces in the car parks for the duration of our works. We will erect hoarding and noise reducing screens around a drilling rig. Drilling the borehole should take around five days to complete.
Once the borehole is complete, we will install a secure cover. We will monitor the works closely to ensure we operate within approved noise and vibration limits.
